Karimedu Karuvayan

<p>The story revolves around Karuvayan, a man driven by vengeance after witnessing the brutal murder of his beloved sister. Consumed by grief and a burning desire for justice, Karuvayan meticulously plans his revenge against the five perpetrators responsible for his sister’s death. Karuvayan systematically hunts down his targets, successfully eliminating four of the five murderers according to his carefully orchestrated plan. However, his quest for vengeance comes at a steep price when law enforcement finally catches up with him. Despite his motivations, the legal system shows no mercy, and Karuvayan is arrested, tried, and sentenced to death for his vigilante actions. As his execution date approaches, Karuvayan’s determination to complete his mission remains unwavering. In a daring escape from prison, he manages to break free just before his scheduled execution. With time running out and the authorities in hot pursuit, he tracks down and kills the fifth and final person on his list, finally completing his blood oath of revenge. However, Karuvayan’s freedom is short-lived. As he attempts to flee the village, he is cornered by the police in a final confrontation. In the ensuing chase and shootout, Karuvayan is fatally wounded by police gunfire and dies, having achieved his goal but paying the ultimate price. The tragedy deepens when Kaliammal, his devoted love interest who had stood by him throughout his ordeal, is overwhelmed by the shock of his death and also succumbs, unable to bear the loss of her beloved. After the success of (1983), Tamil cinema started making numerous films based on outlaws, with being one such. It was based on the life history of bandit of same name who lived in Nagamalai and was encountered. The film was launched at Prasad Studios and the song “Karuvayan Kadhai Kelu” was recorded on the same day. The song “Kaatukulle Kadhal” was shot at Mettupalayam.
