Malathi, born into a wealthy family, defies her father’s wishes by marrying her music teacher, who is of modest means. Facing disdain from her family, particularly during her sister’s wedding, Malathi and her husband decide to leave before the celebrations begin due to the hurtful insults. This departure deeply affects her mother, who becomes bedridden and passes away from sorrow.
