Storyline
A. K. Velan sold the copyrights of the 1961 Kannada film to for (equivalent to 67,000 or US$790 in 2023), and Vasudevan produced a remake (1965). After that film’s success, Velan considered adapting the story in Tamil and bought the rights back from Vasudevan for (equivalent to 330,000 or US$3,900 in 2023); however the remake became a box office failure.
